Bordered by the dry savannah, high up in the Eastern Arc Mountains in the heart of Tanzania, lies Udzungwa. It is an almost pristine, green world, home to a wealth of animals and plants, and described by scientists as unique.
It is among the forgotten rainforests in Africa harboring waterfalls and quite a good trekking and hiking region….
Mang’ula village, for most visitors to the Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a base of operations. Being home to three local tribes: Wapogoro, Wandamba and Wabenay. The soils are fertile, good rainy seasons and plenty of water off the mountains all year round.
